Appearance, Aroma, and Taste

Beautiful colours spring from the bud with lighter and darker shades of purple and golden pistols enveloping the bud. The bud structure is of high quality, one can tell due to the rather dense structure. The healthy pistils and trichomes not being cut short but instead springing up from the flower show a positive sign of little to no harmful PGR chemicals used in the growing. The pistils decorate the bud and look almost as fine as woollen threads, the different shades of green and purple around it make for an elegant colour splash.

Not only does this strain look unique but it’s aroma is equally pleasant. It can be described as sweet, herbal, peppery and berry-like. The effects this strain provides consumers is of high quality and almost balance, yet still indica orientated. Here are some of my favorite stoner products and gifts. These essentials enhance my session, make the process more seamless and I hope they do the exact same for you and your friends. There’s no particular order, and none of these brands / products mentioned in this blog has sponsored or paid me.

1. Rolling Papers

Papers are clearly an essential part of any stoners kit and session. I have a number of go-to brands which are always on my shopping list:

– RAW Black Thin Papers
This ones made for the dankest cannabis of them all. Enjoy the smooth burn & flavor.

– RAW Organics
I’ve always been a fan of RAW Organics, not just for how easy they are to roll with, even with my hands which strain from time to time but I love them also for the way they burn. These also come in cones if you do not want to roll or are great for when you are on the go.

– Element Rice Papers
These Thin Rice Papers are available in a handful of different variations, from 1 1/4 to King Size, Element papers also offer pre rolled cones which make it easier to “roll” a joint while on the move.

– Zig Zag Papers
If you have been smoking for a while these would have been one of the first papers you would have seen at your local headshop or tobacconist. These were the first papers I ever picked up, no idea why but I’m going to most likely put it down to the classic packaging and artwork they use.

2. King Palms

If you haven’t tried these, you must, not for me but for you, please. King Palms are individually hand rolled, the leaves are from the flowering tree of Cordia (Borage) which are grown on their family farm in South East Asia. These are 100% Natural, burn slow and smoke so smooth your lungs and taste buds will thank you.

3. Rolling Tray

Don’t bother spending money on a small tray, try to look at a wider / bigger tray purely due to the convenience of space. You may want to keep you papers packet, grinder and other materials on your tray rather than putting them back.

4. Jar / Storage

I tend to get asked this question a lot, where do I store my weed? You should definitely be storing your cannabis in a jar but which one? My recommendation is MyPharmJar, not only because I am affiliated with them but because they truly make an amazing jar, read my in-depth review.

5. Boveda Humidity Control

If you know me in real life, you’ll know every jar of mine has a Boveda sachet, I was introduced by a friend of mine within the industry. The beauty of these packs is that they last up to 2 years, they are available in a variety of packs. It’s well worth the investment to keep your buds fresh. These are not only to keep your cannabis from going moldy, Boveda packs are also great for your cold meats, salami and cigars too. During the hotter months I keep my papers in jars as the humidity and the heat generally ruins my papers, this could be totally different for you!

6. Hemp Wick

Hemp what? for the ones who are not aware a hemp wick is a piece of string made of hemp and beeswax. I personally love using a hemp wick, they just tastes cleaner, try it and you will see what I mean! Once you inhale butane almost immediately enters your bloodstream what happens here is your oxygen gets blocked from entering. For my fellow stoners who are looking for a healthier option, a hemp wick is the way to go! Here are some to get you started.

7. Herb Grinder

For me, a grinder is so essential I couldn’t imagine chopping a whole nug with scissors, I have seen people do this before. I’ve ended up either giving them or purchasing a grinder. It’s an essential part of the session and process, the grinder will make sure your herbs are cut up just right. Here are some of my recommendations from Amazon based on personal experience.

8. Tips / Crutches / Roaches

You may call them one of the above or a filter, simply put it’s there to ensure you’re getting all the terpenes, THC and green goodness rather than using a standard cotton tip filter like you would use if you roll your own tobacco, for the new cannabis smokers / medical patients or anyone that is new to cannabis please know those kind of filtres end up absorbing the THC or at least most of it and ruin the whole experience – If you do please quit, not for me but for you. You can honestly use any kind of tips / roaches they are available in booklets, pre rolled or within your packet of papers. I personally love the RAW Wide tips I pair them up with a 1 1/4, not sure why it could be the smooth smoke or that it is easier to hold! Usage

My favorite part of the Hum 2 device is the extra slot on the rear of the device that holds another cartridge. Both slots fit the standard 510 cartridges and if you are someone like myself who uses enjoys both Cannabis and CBD cartridges, that extra slot comes in handy. I very often find myself losing cartridges so this little quality of life improvement goes a long way. The cartridges fit perfectly into the device so you do not need to worry about your cartridge falling out or misfiring. The device is triggered upon inhalation so no need to worry about buttons.

A little light will turn on as an indication that the battery is functioning and you are met with a little vibration, a hum! The strength of the device is all the notification you need. Immediately upon inhalation the coil triggers and produces a mountain of vapor which compares very favorably among most pens. Many pens and vapes force you to suck a baseball threw a garden hose which even still produces very little vapor but not the Hum devices.

Battery Life

The most important factor for a cartridge device is its battery life. This can make or break a device for me. Luckily the Hum devices did not disappoint. These devices last far longer than the average battery on the market currently. When compared to other batteries in its price range, I find I have to charge the Hum only half as often. Even when tested under strenuous parameters (being passed around a friendly gathering) the Hum 2 lasted all night. The device charges incredibly fast and after being on the charger for roughly 20 minutes, I was able to use the device until the end of the day before needing another charge.

Ergonomics

As I said before Hello Hum’s clean and modern design is seen throughout the Hum 2. The device is a sleek matte black square roughly 2’’ x 2’’. The device is small enough to fit comfortably inside your hands and pockets but still has a solid and strong foundation. The matte black color does lead to scratches being magnified but only after putting my device through the wringer for testing purposes was I able to leave visible marks. The device is made to replace all of your disposable pens and is built with aluminum and steel for the long term. It is built to be used continuously and on a daily basis.

As CBD flower and pre-rolls become more widely accepted and scrutiny damped, the influx of pre-roll/ flower products on the market right now is explosive. Companies are coming out with new strains and pre-roll packs quicker than people can smoke them. Finding a reputable and safe product can be quite difficult if you don’t know where to look or are in a state with stricter laws against Cannabis.

Finding a cannabis brand / company that fits you and your needs is of the utmost importance. Though countless brands, I’ve combed and searched far and wide for quality CBD brands and just recently I’ve stumbled onto a company out of Californa called Lowell Herb Co. and more specifically their CBD pre-rolls Lowell Smokes.

Lowell has a long history in the cannabis scene that dates back to 1909 when found William “Bull” Lowell was growing what was called as Indian Hemp. The company has exploded following marijuana legalization and then eventually the Farm Bill that legalized hemp nationwide. Although widely known for their THC products, their CBD products also follow the same high-quality standard. I had the pleasure just recently to sample a pack of their CBD pre-rolls and must I say I was not disappointed.

Packaging

Starting with the presentation of the package, all of their products are shipped in secure and fresh packaging. In the shipping vessel, you will find your product as well as lab work detailing the cannabinoid composition and quality assurances. The pre-rolls themselves come in an apothecary-styled pack that is made from all-natural materials. The brand gives off a rustic yet professional vibe and the style of the package is no different. The box feels secure and it has a flap that you pull up to expose the 7 pre-rolled joints as well as matches for a quick light. It is also very discreet and fits in the pocket comfortably.

Quality

As I stated before, you will not have to worry about the quality of your flower when a smoking product from Lowell Smokes. The CBD comes with lab work that details much how much CBD and THC is in your product, which I recommend keeping on you if you are in a state with strict cannabis laws. The flower quality is top of the line and almost feels as though it has just been taken off the plant. The bud is a nice earthy green with a large number of trichomes bursting with cannabinoids leaving the bud with a starry night glimmering look. It gives off a slight skunk aroma with small undertones of citrus and pine.

The Smoke

When I look for a pre-roll or bud, I’m very critical of the flavor profile. With so many cannabis products in the market, you can tell a company’s desire to be great by how their cannabis tastes. With so much advancement in breeding and selective gene splicing, the flower should no longer taste like I’m licking the backside of a muddy boot, this isn’t the 90s anymore. It should also not burn my throat to a crisp.

These pre-rolls hit the mark on both of these. It was a nice smooth smoke that gave me a nice strong feeling in my lungs and not my throat. A telltale sign of bad flower is the burning of the throat, you should feel the effects in your lungs. The taste was piney and a slight bit sweet and thankfully did not have an earthy aftertaste like most lower quality flower.

The pre-rolls are also wrapped in all-natural hemp paper so you no need to worry about harmful pathogens getting into your lungs. I’ve had a few better-tasting brands but this one is definitely in my top 10.

Effects and Potency

All of Lowell’s products come with just the right amount of potency to not over agitate your senses. The THC rolls usually come within the 20-30 percent range and the CBD rolls usually stick around the 17 percent mark. Both of these numbers are the right range for the most desired effects. Too much and you could feel signs of anxiety and paranoia and too little and you won’t feel anything at all.

The CBD pre-rolls put me in the exact state I usually desire when consuming CBD. A nice mellow buzz with a lofty/ airy feel. They were great for before bed as well as during the day. These rolls were quite comparable to a swiss army knife.

So..Why Lowell?

With so many choices to choose from one way to differentiate brands is by their competitive pricing and their ecological and social footprint. The company doing its best to leave the earth better than they found it and are they reaching out and doing humanitarian work are questions you should think about when in a dispensary or online next time you purchase cannabis. Lowell ships their flower/ pre-rolls in recycled materials and practice environmentally safe work practices.

They are also big in the cannabis prohibition scene, enacting programs that sway the negative cannabis perceptions and help those who have been affected by its senseless prohibition. Their pricing is also an attractive aspect of the brand.

Innovation

Plain Jane’s pre-rolls come in a .9 gram cigarette form. Now don’t mistake this for being a tobacco cigarette but rather it is filled with Plain Jane’s odorless and smooth flower or their full flavor bud. You can tell their vision with this product is for consumer discreteness. They come in a cigarette carton and are a great way to cut out tobacco and instead fill the habit of smoking a cig’ with CBD. When I quit smoking tobacco and switched to cannabis, I found that cutting the habit was harder than cutting the cravings. This CBD cigarette is a sort of placebo for the cigarette muscle memory many long time smokers have. The odorless and smooth pre-roll also masks the typical “dank” weed smell that marijuana and hemp flower usually have. I wish I was smart enough to figure out how the chemistry that goes beyond removing the smell from the flower.

Quality

As I said before, Plain Jane did not disappoint with this flower. All CBD on the website is quality checked before shipping to the consumer. The flower was nice and moist right out of the packaging. Usually flower comes just a little dry because of shipping conditions but not this time! The flower came in nice .7-.9 gram nugs and were very pleasing on the eye. The bud had a nice bright green shine with light brown pistils. The flower was packed with trichomes and upon breaking the bud up looked like a jewelry store with all the diamonds glistening in the light. The grinded bud was perfect for rolling as the sticky flower seemed to roll itself! It is also a nice filler for a bowl and/ or bong, which is how I prefer to smoke this Plain Jane flower. The pre-rolls were also professionally wrapped and came in an attractive white wrap. The full flavor ground doesn’t lose any of the quality the bud presents.

Taste & Smell

For the full flavor bud, the taste leaves a nice earthy, almost fruity smoke flavor in the mouth. The bud smokes ever so nicely but could be a little harsh on the throat if you are an amateur smoker. It leaves behind an earthy dank smell behind that lasts for 30 minutes to an hour after smoking so I would smoke this strain outdoors or with the windows open I’d recommend starting with the odorless and smooth flower that Plain Jane has to offer if you are new to smoking CBD flower. It is actually quite astonishing that this flower actually has no smell and no flower. This would be flower I would smoke in the comfort of a nice, soft couch. It smokes amazing and whatever flavor of wrap you have will be the overwhelming majority of flavor that you taste when smoking the smooth bud. I recommend an all natural hemp wrap.

As someone who medicates with CBD, I am very critical of the onset effects with every CBD product I use. Plain Jane delivers when it comes to the overall feeling after smoking their product. Joints and rolls will have less of an effect than something like a distillate vape pen which is also offered on Plain Jane’s website and I hope I can get my hands on. But as I said before what I feel from consuming CBD might not be the exact way you feel. I recommend trying a few different products from Plain Jane and seeing what works for you. They offer great quality and are one of the most affordable brands on the market right now. I was overall very pleased with the flower and pre-rolls I received and will definitely be going back for more very soon. In June 2018, the FDA cleared a medicine called Epidiolex, which is comprised of CBD and is used to treat rare and aggressive forms of epilepsy.

Although CBD has been around the consumer marketplace for some time, it only just recently boomed in popularity. CBD oil is popping up on every street corner in one form or the other. By itself CBD oil isn’t all that popular as its taken orally through a dropper and is generally a bitter and unappealing to taste. CBD infused products are plenty and broad. Everything from foot cream to gummy bears are being infused with CBD

New products are popping up almost every second of the day. The growth that the CBD market as experienced all within a short time span has been ridiculous! CBD dispensaries are popping up on street corners all over the US and online sales of things such as CBD infused bath bombs and coffee are off the charts. CBD even has its own cryptocurrency and blockchain. People are becoming overnight millionaires and CBD businesses are climbing the Forbes List.

Edibles are the major cash cow of the CBD market. Gummies and candies are becoming a fan favorite and can be picked up at your neighborhood gas station. Coffee shops are selling infused lattes and restaurants are selling food that has been infused and then cooked. The edible business is booming but regulation might just cause it to slow…

With no day-to-day regulation on CBD many companies have “back-seated” quality in favor of quantity. Between discovering that 7 major CBD companies had very little to no CBD but rather had higher amounts of THC and a large brand of CBD gummies testing positive for harmful amounts of lead, the FDA cracked down on CBD infused edibles. This eventually lead to the FDA calling a ban to CBD edibles and that it is illegal to sell. New York was the first to carry out this ban and will start fining establishments who are selling these products. This of course isn’t permanent. Companies will have a period for “education” where they can continue to sell their product while they learn and transition to the FDA’s regulations.

If the edible ban has you down, never fear! There are infinite amounts of body care products that are being infused with CBD. Sephora, one of the top makeup companies, has just announced that it intends to roll out a skin care series infused with CBD oil. Along with makeup, companies are releasing foot creams, acne washes, and just about everything in a Bed, Bath, and Beyond store. Which is ironic because a recent retail chain has open up in , the Midwest claiming to be just that. A Bed, Bath, and Beyond but for CBD.

CBD has also had an adverse effect on Hemp production. The US has very little regulation on CBD but one requirement is that the THC content of the oil has to be below .3%. Hemp is different from the marijuana plant in that it contains very minimal THC in its makeup and a larger CBD population. So to adhere to the US regulation, CBD is being extracted from hemp rather than marijuana. So with the boom of the CBD industry, the hemp industry is pulled along for the ride. In a recent Motley Fool article, it was reported China had nearly $1.2 billion in hemp sales (which led all countries), followed by the United States at $1 billion, the whole of Europe at $980 million, and Central and South America at $220 million. However, by 2022, New Frontier Data’s report estimates U.S. hemp sales will have jumped to $2.6 billion. Of this $2.6 billion in hemp sales, half of all hemp sales will be generated from hemp extracted CBD.

CBD does have genuine medical and health benefits and it is a major boom to the marketplace. The possibilities for CBD are endless and I don’t see the industry slowing down anytime soon, even when regulation hits. In the meantime, while regulations are setting in make sure you do your research before you start any new CBD product. Go with a company who has had a proven past and can guarantee quality. You might even want to dabble in CBD business. Don’t be caught sleeping while the next period of “The Green Gold Rush” passes.

Every once in a while a weed guy goes big time and becomes an all-out sensi celebrity. What better example of this then the king of cannabis himself, Snoop Dogg?

From local Long Beach weed guy to rap superstar to ganja mogul, Snoop’s built his entire career on a solid foundation of marijuana.

And as it turns out, Snoop’s pot-infused life involves the lives of other celebrities in some kind of interesting ways. One of the coolest cannabis connections between Snoop and other celebrities is his little known past as Cameron Diaz’s high school weed dealer.

This connection came to light when Cameron Diaz was a guest on the now-defunct nighttime talk show “Lopez Tonight,” which was hosted by comedian George Lopez.

On the show, Diaz said that when she was a teen, she attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School, the same school Snoop went to.

Diaz was one year behind the up-and-coming rapper, and apparently, Snoop was her pot hook up.

And the response..

“I remember him, he was very tall and skinny and wore lots of ponytails,” Diaz said. “And I’m pretty sure I bought weed from him.”

A short time later, it was Snoop’s turn to be a guest on Lopez’s show. While he was on stage, Lopez played the clip of Diaz talking about her days of buying bud from Snoop as a high schooler.

Snoop laughed and said: “I might have sold her some of that white girl weed,” which he jokingly explained was just “sticks and stems and seeds.”

Snoop and Diaz are just two names on a growing list of celebrity pot smokers.

Although they might be the first celebrities to have ever had a dealer-buyer relationship.

Other well-known celebrity stoners include Seth Rogen—who just started his own YouTube ganja show.

Vegetarian CBD Lasange | Cannabis Infused Recipe

Ingredients

Servings 2 People

Pre-cooked lasagna leaves	12
Grated tomatoes	400g
Mushrooms	200 g
Eggplant	1 piece
Red bell pepper	1 piece
Zucchini	1 piece
carrots	3 pieces
Onion	1 piece

Bechamel:

Milk	500 ml
Flour	60 g
Butter	50 g
CBD Trim	2 g

Step 1

Start with the bechamel: heat the butter over low heat in a saucepan. Once the butter begins to melt, pour the whole of the CBD trim previously chopped and stripped of branches while stirring.

Step 2

Add the flour, then the milk and stir continuously until it forms a creamy mixture. Then remove the sauce and let it rest during the preparation of the lasagna.

Step 3

Cut the vegetables into cubes and fry them in a pan with olive oil. Make them color only. Mix in a bowl with fresh tomatoes, oregano and salt. The cooking of the vegetables will finish in the oven.

Step 4

Place four lasagna sheets in a baking dish, cover them with the mixture of poached vegetables and tomatoes, add a layer of béchamel and sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Repeat this step 2 times with the remaining 8 lasagna sheets.

Step 5

Place your lasagna in the oven at 170 ° for 40 minutes.

The ingredients for our recipes are carefully selected in order to maximize the benefits of CBD for your body. In this recipe, the key ingredients are salmon and olive oil. The oil will allow the CBD to pass through your liver unfiltered allowing your body to enjoy a larger amount of the molecule. As for the salmon, its richness in fatty acids allows the body to metabolize the CBD much quicker.

Salmon fillet 200g
Rice 200g
Mushrooms 100g
Cream 2 tablespoons
CBD Trim 1g
Thyme 1g
Parsley 1g
Laurel 1g

Step 1

Boil water and add thyme, parsley, laurel and a pinch of CBD trim.

Step 2

Season the salmon on both sides with the CBD trim to raise the taste and fry it in a pan. Remember to keep a small amount of trim aside for the final step. Once the water has arrived at boiling point, pour the rice and cook it on low heat for 10-15 minutes depending on the rice of your choosing.

Step 3

Once the salmon is colored, add the mushrooms and fry them for 4 minutes. Then, pour the cream and let it fry on very low heat for 4 minutes while stirring gently the entire time.

Step 4

Drain the rice and serve the whole sprinkled with CBD trim. Enjoy your meal!

Chefs Tips
